Lesson 2 - Quiz Answers 1. To correct problems with a scanned photo, PSP 5 offers a number of types of photo editing tools. Deformations can stretch or reform the image. This can change the perspective or angle from which it originally appears. There are also many types of filters which can enhance the objects in the photo, provide a smoother or sharper appearance, and even cause artistic distortion. Plus PSP 5 provides the ability to change the color or contrast of the image at the pixel level, allowing the retouching of flashbulb glare. Within the program, are additional tools that allow for selection of specific objects within the image, in order to alter or obliterate them. And since the image can be stored electronically, many copies of the image can be made with varying alterations, with very little difficulty.
2. The number of colors used within an image, it's pixel size and density, all contribute to the overall file size in bytes. The larger the file, the longer it will take to load from the web. Reducing the size and colors have a direct impact on reducing the image's loading time.
3. PSP 5 offers 12 deformation tools which alter the shape of the image in terms of stretching, pinching, and otherwise warping an image. There are also 25 filters which allow overall adjustment of the image's detail, refining the edges of subjects within the image, and changing the appearance to achieve specific visual effects. There are four special effects which allow the addition of shadowing or enhancing the depth of the subject selected within the image. This allows altering an image to make it more visually appealing or for clarity.
4. There are many web sites that offer images and photographs for use to the public. Each site specifies whatever limitations the author(s) have placed on those desiring to use their work.
